I did a test between Microsoft Forefront Client Security VS Trend Micro OfficeScan 8.0

Install both client into the MS Windows 2003 Server with SQL 2005 and MS Rights Management Services Server running.

Shown below are the memory utilize by both AV




So here we can see that Trend Micro and MS forefront have a tie! Both use the same amount of memory. But please bear in mind that the Forefront fail the spycar.org test. Therefore Trend Micro OfficeScan 8.0 is still a better choice.

Windows Update in Windows 7 screwed up. I found a bug in Windows 7 where it goes into a repetitive update on a KB969856. Everytime you install it then it says there is a new update and ask u to do the update all over again..

Issue the command

I was doing an evaluation of the Microsoft Forefront Client Security in Windows 2003 server and the verdict of the spycar test are:-

WTF!! It means simple spyware also cannot block!

The installation itself is very crappy. A single server installation require the following configuration. The resource needed to manage a bunch of AV clients increased because it require you to install WSUS , MOM and the SQL2005 with the SQL 2005 reporting server as well.



And another issue with forefront client is even i update the pattern from the internet but the screen shot still shows the old version. However the dialog box say no new update available.. so which is which?
